about
Jerry and I wrote this song in the basement of his old house. I told him we needed a song based on a passage from 1st Corinthians. Jerry nailed the chorus and first verse and we came up with the remaining two. We got kind of stumped at the very end, trying to find a decent rhyme with "we know that our voices are not enough." We tried a few, to no avail, until Jerry blurted out "We've got to use our feet and our hands and stuff." He was kidding, of course. I told him it was perfect. Even became the album's title, for crying out loud.
lyrics
turn around, turn around, hit the ground running
turn around, turn around, time to rearrange
turn around, turn around, better days are coming
turn around, turn around we all know that something's gonna change
we all know that something's gonna change
everybody's got something they're looking for
we're all sick and we're just trying to find a cure
the way things are now we can't ignore
one eighty degrees yea it's what we believe
turn around, turn around, hit the ground running
turn around, turn around, time to rearrange
turn around, turn around, better days are coming
turn around, turn around we all know that something's gonna change
we all know that something's gonna change
presenting ourselves as a sacrifice
we are called to follow Jesus and be the light
shining out in the darkness with all our might
One eighty degrees, yea it's what we believe
turn around, turn around, hit the ground running
turn around, turn around, time to rearrange
turn around, turn around, better days are coming
turn around, turn around we all know that something's gonna change
we all know that something's gonna change
when we go through each day holding on to love
we know that our voices are not enough
we've got to use our feet and our hands and stuff
one eighty degrees, yea it's what we believe
