Back Again 03:11
It’s hard to find lighting outside the storm Where we can see clear as day And not get blown around or soaked to the bone It’s hard to know peace again without the pain Of shattered hopes and dreams It's the dreams you know that keep us awake and alive It’s all, all we want to know All we've waited for It’s happening once again All, all it’s ever been All that it can be It's right here and now I want you to lean into liminal times And listen to the silence You'd be surprised at what you see when you're not looking I want you to know that it's not the end Of sunlight on your face And sweet air to fill your lungs and bring you home It’s all, all we want to know All we've waited for Patiently, cautiously All, all at the same time The rhythms and the rhymes Start making sense once again All, all your hopes and dreams Are coming back again They're coming back again

I Believe 04:41
I believe in a higher power A presence in the dark before the dawn A song of joy heard in the suffering I believe in uncertain waiting Where doubt and faith come together and link arms The two as one This is the journey that I'm on I've just begun All we've ever known A drop of water in A deep and massive sea All above, below All I hope to be This I believe I believe that beliefs should take us Beyond a safe place out into the world And into our vulnerability I believe love will always win No matter who you are or who you love Such a wide embrace Stand with those living on the edge We raise their voice All we've ever known The colors bleed to one A million rising suns Darkness turns to day Light for all to see This I believe I believe we have more in common Than what might tear us apart And when we think we’ve found it all Still looking for All we've ever known A drop of water in A deep and massive sea All above, below All we hope to be This I believe

I was sitting in class my sophomore year in college My English professor was dropping some serious knowledge Saw a young lady sitting two rows away looking so sweet And that's when I noticed that she was looking back at me Ran into her at a party and we danced on the dance floor Talked all night and before we knew it was a quarter to four Saw her next day and my heart leapt with glee Till I passed her by, said hi, and she walked right by me It's complicated I'm underrated She's understated It's complicated Got an invite to join her with friends up in DC She had to be serious now, what else could it be Great is the moment when the spark lights a flame Lame, though, when she forgets your name It's complicated And overstated I'm agitated It's complicated I'm not looking for someone to get serious with I just wanna have fun Wanna hang out a bit But it's crazy when it's hazy what she's thinking bout me Don't know how to act, don't know who to be I wish it were easier to go on a date But on a bed of nails she makes me wait This reading 'tween the lines is exhausting to me I guess it's bound to be Complicated I've advocated Overestimated So complicated

There's something about Sinking down Letting go Deeper into blue Stop treading water It'll only make you tired And wear you down Till you lose sight of you I've not lost my way I'm looking for the signs Searching to find me And hoping to be found By some higher power At this very hour The image holds Us captive still A heavy burden A weight we can't ignore It's what we cling So tightly to That hurts the most It's not worth fighting for Tired of manufacturing My lonely prison cell I know it all too well Find myself in the mess The place where we’re made known to us is Deeper into heart Deeper into soul Deeper into me Deep in you Deeper into life Deeper into peace Deeper into love… You find yourself When you lose yourself When you quit wondering If you could be more Everyone sees you But it’s not really you It's the shame that Cuts you to the core To be vulnerable To light a candle through The darkness that consumes you Dare to let others see Breaking down the walls so you’ll be Deeper into heart Deeper into soul Deeper into me Deep in you Deeper into life Deeper into peace Deeper into love Deep in true Deeper into God Deeper into good Deep into the old Deep in new Deeper into grace Deep into the mess Deep into it all… You find yourself When you lose yourself When you disappear Deeper into blue

There’s a crack in the foundation Deep along the edge It’s impossible to miss it Only when truths are left unsaid We all know it’s been broken for awhile We’ve seen it there before And still we feed on the narratives Embrace the lies as we make up more Oh, oh oh Another brick in the walls between us Oh, oh oh Another nail in the hands of love They say it’s just the order of things Not everyone’s the same As they exercise their privilege And point the finger where to cast the blame They claim not to be the broken ones That was so very long ago But they’re living out the legacy You always reap what others sow Oh, oh oh Another brick in the walls between us Oh, oh oh Another nail in the hands of love See the flames go Higher and higher Here we are living Out on a wire See the flames go Higher and higher We are still living Out on a wire I am tired of the excuses My patience is worn thin But not as much as those who have to live In the shadows of our sins So take your manufactured indignation Shrouded in piety You might fool the blinded masses But you’re not fooling me Oh, oh oh Another brick in the walls between us Oh, oh oh Another nail in the hands of love

Heartache Healing Hoping for a brand new start Knowing that it Looks to be The last time Searching Finding Just what you were looking for Running from the Darkness Into the night We’re living in the time Longing for some peace of mind It’s always when we least expect it Meaning in the signs A moment Secrets Promises left unsaid Endings become New beginnings All again Sunrise Sunset It all depends where you are Open up your Eyes to see What your heart can feel It’s what we waited for A house we can call our home A place where we are always welcome Love intertwined Heartache Healing There is always time to start Hope and dreams will Lead us through The last time

Outer space, it's so big No one knows if it ever ends It keeps going on and there's so much to learn about it Molten lava, volcano It's all good until it blows And those who live nearby must get the hell away from it Bridges are so very high Skyscrapers they scrape the sky And if you fall its bad but how about the view when you're up there These are the things that amaze us and still shake us All hail to the things that astound us and confound us Anticipation is the worst If it doesn't happen you feel cursed But nothing's better than a hope that finally comes together You're in a city you don't know You have no clue where you should go It's an adventure but it's also kinda strange if you think about it These are the things that impress us and distress us All hail to the things that astound us and confound us Isn't it crazy that life can be this way So much to experience and see What if we cherished every moment of every day For the gifts that they might be New York City and high cliffs Everest and the deepest depths So many things to love, so many things to be afraid of These are the things that amaze us and still shake us All hail to the things that astound us and confound us Oceans Heaven Dying and hell Big storms Lightning Thunder Parenting Roller Coasters Public speaking Tik tok New love New life

Night is falling Faster than the days were If you listen You can hear the change of weather Sounds like its colder Sounds like it's colder outside The howling wind It seeks to tell a story Of younger days And older glories But now is the moment Now is the moment to try If you'd hold your head a little higher You would see all things above the wire But still you look down Still you look down tonight When the day comes Everything is so new But in the darkness The choices they unnerve you So why in the middle Why in the middle all the time For once I’d like to see you shine Think outside the lines The howling wind It seeks to tell a story Sometimes I wonder If you see what I see Sometimes I wonder If you see what I see A beautiful soul Lost in all the hurry Why do you worry Why do you worry all the time Night is falling Faster than the days were If you listen You can hear the change of weather It sounds like its colder Sounds like it's colder outside It's cold outside

Open my eyes to see The ceiling right above me Air breathing into my lungs Another day has begun What will I do What will I say On this my last day alive The coffee, it tastes much better My friends they seem a whole lot friendlier Strange the things you notice when You happen to know you're nearing the end How would I live Who would l love If this were my last day alive Making the most Of every moment When it might be your last day alive

I used to have the hardest time making sense of big things I thought it was only for the prophets and the kings Big words on buildings to see It took me a little while but I've come to believe It's not what we scream at the walls Instead it is big made small I used to think that God was just a God up in the clouds Out of touch with what is happening in the here and now But now I can pick him up and hold him close to me Laugh and talk nonsense to this tiny thing It's a baby after all Share my life with big made small Funny how even now this smallness seems to be Bigger than it's ever been at any point for me So I’ll keep holding you in my arms and know That you are still holding me in yours And once and for all What we made big You made small

The rain creeps in under the door Just like it did before I thought it was fixed So it wouldn’t do it anymore And at times it carries with it my tears Washing away all the fear And when it does It tells me that this is all real I'll wait and see I'll hold on The loneliness never sticks around for very long Dreaming of love Hope for the best That comes when you realize this is not a test And everyone knows It's just living near Waiting for here The light shines through my window pane Every single day Without fail Showing me the way I’ll hold it down I’ll keep the peace Patience isn’t something that comes easily It's how we live We get to choose No matter what they tell you on the evening news So I'll wait and see I'll hold on The loneliness never sticks around for very long Dreaming of love Hope for the best It's what you have when you're not thinking about all the rest Things are much closer Than they appear Waiting for here

Life can come so fast Like the die's been cast But this too shall pass It'll be alright When the up is down When struggles are all around Just let your grace abound and It'll be alright Now we don’t learn who we are in the calm In the silence of days We find out who we really are in the swirl The pelting rain I'm not looking for false hope That leaves me at the end of my rope Just tell me that your love's no joke and It'll be alright I can handle most anything That the world might bring As long as you’re right here with me It’ll be alright For all of our lives we’ve been told a lie That we’re all alone, by ourselves But we are surrounded by such love in ways we’ll never know So my friend, may you live your life simply Love everyone generously Serve your neighbor faithfully It'll be alright It’ll be alright - don’t you worry now It’ll be alright
